(Oh, and take little heed to the "out of 5" star ratings, art can't be broken down that easily haha)

As always, I'm impressed by your thoughtful and realistically anchored reimaginings of Pokemon. I think the "explorer's journal" format works well, and allows for bite-sized entries like the ones you make. The descriptions are inspired and believable, and offer a good balance between animal biology and narrative.
I think my main complaint is the disconnect between the text and the imagery. Anatomically and design-wise, I think you're doing pretty well, but the illustrations could really benefit from more contrast: make the brights brighter and the darks darker, and I think they could be much more visually striking. And don't be afraid to be daring with color! The underlying structure of the animals' forms are great, but adding some bright colors would give these drawings a lot more life. Also, I think you can activate the negative space in the journals(such as in this entry, the lower left-hand corner where no text appears) with some loose, gestural drawings showing the monsters in movement, or throw in some anatomical drawings as you have done in many previous pages.

My only other complaint is a more technical one: the text is a bit hard to read. My suggestion is to lower the opacity of the "parchment" layer so it's not clashing with the text's dark color. This will also make the illustration stand out more as well.

If this seemed a bit nit-picky, it's only because I really like the write-ups you do and I think your ideas are great, so these ideas are what will push your art from "good" to "great" and make these pieces as a whole work better. And on a more subjective level, I'd love to see an illustration of the narrator and/or the world this is happening in, sort of like what you did on page 31. But besides that, great job, and keep up the awesome work :)

These are amazing! Personally I would LOVE if you did Onix and Steelix (with the obligatory human silhouette for size comparison of course), your realistic takes and stories would make them incredible!

That sounds like an awesome idea. I'll have to figure out the poses and such but I can see that happening.

Thank you! I am working on some cool pages and hope to release them soon. A Mightyena page and a Fergaltr is currently in the works.

I've been looking at this little series for a while, and both the writing and the art is absolutely stunning. I do wish you'd played more off of the horse-chestnut aspect of Chespin in this, though, that was what really made the original concept so interesting to me and I find the leaves a bit odd.

Fair enough! I am not really happy with the first three starters and will probably not include them in the actual book I make. I did these as a conversation to originally be features in PNM magazine. ;)

This is so awesome! I might use one of your works as an example for school, do you mind telling me what you normally use to make these, it looks like pencil and pastel but I'm not sure.

I use photoshop and Painter. The original concepts are drawn with pencil/pen on paper.
