You know Charles Darwin would have a Torterra and a Torkoal. Is their a Finch Pokemon?

Maybe in the 6th generation. Lots of birds no actual... "Finches"

Would be nice to see, especially if their beaks were determined akin to the mechanism used for Unown's letters.

Excellent work all around. I love how you worked the unusually-long lifecycles of real galapagos tortoises into their poke-counterparts.

As the quote often attributed to German architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe says, "God is in the details." If you put effort into adding such things, eventually, they will get noticed and appreciated by someone.

And that's the reason you don't let Torkoals into your tents. Not outside their Pokéballs. :D

Omg...How does one reach the level of awesome that is this picture? I've always loved Torkoal because it's one of the few Turtle/Tortoise pokemon out there, but this...This just takes it to a whole new level. Thank you for making this <3

Quite an interesting depiction this time. And nice name for it, too... Hephestus (or Hephaistos) suits Torkoal.

Im working on a separate Torkoal (Think side view with organs) and I am also doing some concepts on more grass pokemon. Vileplume and Victreebel type. I wont say much more. :)

There may also be a combat seen between a zangoose and a Seviper but Im not sure. You'll have to wait and see.

Torkoal is an excellent choice. And you have done an amazing job with this piece. I love the anecdotal aspect of this entry.

I figured the story would be a great "break" from the average "informational" entry but still contain some aspects of behavior and attitude.

Good idea. I love it. I have never really liked torkoal, but this made it seem more real. (Love its name too. Do his other pokemon have nicknames too?

Yes. You can check out the Professors Application at the group :iconpokemonprofessors: It should be in the Applications section (maybe the featured).

You can also try the [link] and that should take you directly to The Professors story. A little piece on him as a trainer.

How you draw the Pokemon, is what I think they would look like if they were real. In the game I also have a Torkoal named Hephestus
