Bast, and now I'm imagining these somewhere in Mongolia, where IRL bactrian camels live. And the locals ,cooking their pilaf with cauldrons hung over the humps. And it's totally awesome.
Clearly? As you stated the baby Numel is a camel and to me, the Camerupt, looks like a Bactrain camel. With the two humps replaced with the volcanos. ;D
I always understood his volcanic cones representing humps, but to me, his body and especially his wide face and long pointed ears look sooo much more like cartoon depictions of a cow than a camel. Just saying yours is how he should have looked from the beginning. He's got the long neck, small ears and thin, very slightly hooked face of a real camel.
The Nidoran I am working on right now is quite a concoction of animals as well. Ive been sketching Porcupines, Capybaras, and Hares. Im rather... well at odds with this one! LOL
